About Mrs. Heimdal
My name is Sandy Heimdal. I grew up in Canton, S.D. I currently reside in Sioux Falls. This is my 17th year of teaching. I graduated from Dakota State University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary and Special Education. In May I received a master's of Technology in Education degree at DSU. I am excited to use this new knowledge to expand on student learning.
I am married to a wonderful man who works with Smart Commercial Construction. We have two beautiful little girls, Rhiannen and Ande, and two handsome little men, Briley and Brycen. Rhiannen is 14 years old and driving all over. Briley is 11 and loving tackle football this year. Ande is 8 and is always ready for a playdate with anyone that will make slime with her and Brycen is 7, playing flag football and always on the go. We had a wonderful summer of fishing, boating, swimming, four wheeling and camping. |
Educational Philosophy
I embrace teaching as an opportunity to inspire. As a teacher, it is my goal to enhance student learning as a transforming experience and meet all learners at their ability level on a daily basis. When this is accomplished, they will strive to be lifelong learners and have the confidence to further their education beyond what they ever imagined.. I want students to feel changed by their time spent in the classroom. Every person should have a sense of self-worth along with a cheerleader that stands beside them and guides them to continue to challenge themselves daily. I will do my best to ensure this happens to all learners within my care.
